Discord Rules

Note: This page is moderated and can be referenced in OOC issues, such as ban appeals, complaints, reports, etc. This may not apply to the pages this page links to.

1. Don’t be a dick. This Discord server is meant to be open and friendly, don’t make it into an unenjoyable environment.
   1a: Harassment will not be tolerated.
   1b: Do not communicate in bad faith. This includes making assumptions about people's intentions or positions.
2. Do not use this Discord server to break the rules of other communities/servers.
   2a: This rule does not apply to stupid rules such as, "do not criticize us in other servers".
3. Discord is for discourse to happen. Do not disrupt the ability to hold a conversation. This includes spam, dog piling, excessive embeds, and so on. Enclose links with < > to hide embeds.
   
4. Do not abuse pings.
5. Doxing/SWATing: Doing it, encouraging it, or joking about it will lead to you being blacklisted.
6. Do not attempt to resolve administrative matters over Discord or Discord DMs.
7. Anything that is against the Discord ToS or that will make Discord mad at us is not allowed.
8. Any NSFW content must be clearly labeled, as well as spoilered or nested in < > to prevent the automatic embed, pornographic content is not allowed.
9. This Discord server, requires you to be 18 years old. (We’re not going to hunt down your age.)
10. Do not change two or more of the following in such a way that you would get confused with someone: avatar, username, display name (nickname).
11. Bigotry is not allowed. Intentionally seeking to demean others due to their actual or perceived race, sex, gender, orientation or the like is not tolerated.

    It is not our goal to create or enforce a list of banned words and instead our goal to eject bigotry from the community.

12. Political discussions go in the political channels only.
13. Posting videos that switch tones from normal to rule breaking mid way thru will increase your punishment and decrease the likelihood of any bans being appealable.

Channel Notes

• #coding-general is for the /tg/station 13 codebase. Request support for forks or other codebases in the Coderbus Discord. When you ask us for help, we may assume you have or are working with current /tg/ code and we do not want to waste time if this assumption leads us on a wild goose chase. At the least, you are expected to make sure everybody a part of the conversation for helping you understands you are working with a fork.
• #mrp-general is not an advertising space for other discords. Do not suggest people talking in it should move to any external discord instead.
• #cute-general allows the posting of animated or drawn cute things, but only as long as they make up a minority of the postings. If the most recent last few posts were drawn or animated things, you are expected to have the self discipline to not post Yet Another™️ drawn or animated thing and instead wait until this changes.

Discord Roles

We have several pingable roles, below are the most common ones and their uses.
Please only ping once! Multiple pings do not solve your issue any faster and will likely get you kicked timed out.
@Supportmin: for in-game issues when there are no admins online.
@Key Holder: for maintenance/server issues, like a server crash.
@Head Admin: for important administrative issues.
@Discord Jannie: for discord issues requiring moderator attention.
