Radio channels

(перенаправлено с «Speaking»)

You can speak on a radio channel you have access to by using one of the channel prefixes below. Colons or periods can be used for the prefixes; for example: .m or :m will both talk on the medical channel. Note that the common channel uses a ; prefix.

To see a list of radio channels you can talk on, inspect your headset.

Other Communication Codes

Underlines, italics, and bold characters can be mix-and-matched.
Underlines
Underscores around your message, e.g. _This text would be underlined._ would come out as This text would be underlined.
Italics
Vertical bars around your message, e.g. |This text would be italicized.| would come out as This text would be italicized.
Bold characters
Plus marks around your message, e.g. +This text would be boldened+ would come out as This text would be boldened.
You can also add two or more exclamation marks (!!) at the end of your sentence to achieve the same effect.

Emotes Over Radio

;emotehere*, eg.

;smokes loudly over the radio like a gamer.*

would come out as

[Common] Pete Zaparti smokes loudly over the radio like a gamer.

Alternatively, ;emotehere*talkyhere, eg.

;smokes loudly over the radio like a gamer, then pulls their microphone closely to their mouth*So, how's everyone else's day been?

would come out as

[Common] Pete Zaparti smokes loudly over the radio like a gamer, then pulls their microphone closely to their mouth, "So, how's everyone else's day been?"

The order is as follows: language, radio, voice modifier, action, message. So,

,!;%#audibly stubs his toe, and yells*FUUUCK!!

would come out as

[Common] John Foo audibly stubs his toe, and yells, "♪ ***U*K*! ♪" (in galactic uncommon)

Whispering over the radio will put stars everywhere, and you can't bold a singing message with yelling (you CAN yellwhisper though, weirdly enough).

Radio Frequencies

Frequencies are encrypted, so to listen in on a department is not as easy as using their frequency; you'll need a proper decryption key, which can be obtained by using a screwdriver on a headset which contains it. AI Private channel and Common are an exception and can be tuned into freely with any radio.

You can listen to AI without disconnecting from Common by tuning in from one of the abundant station bounced radios everywhere.
